der BMW BoxerCUP promoted by Wilbers

BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2020: Green light at last!

Munich/Nordhorn - The BMW Motorrad BoxerCup Promoted by Wilbers can now enter its second season after the Corona forced break: the classic racing boxers will compete in the last three IDM rounds of the German Motorcycle Championship at Assen, the Lausitzring and Hockenheim. Another fourth event may be added in October. This would mean that in 2020 there would be six or a maximum of eight classification rounds of the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup.

Riders and teams can now apply for the coveted Cup places for 2020. An important change compared to the 2019 premiere year: Due to the shortened season and for greater excitement, all riders competing, including guest entrants, are entitled to points. The popular rental offers with which guest entrants can get a taste of the series with single or multiple races are still available. All information is available at www.bmw-boxer-cup.de.

Despite the Corona crisis the previous partners remain loyal to the BoxerCup for 2020: DUNLOP continues to supply inexpensive, sticky slick and rain tyres, HJC the helmets for all pilots. Exclusive parts from GILLES (footrests & handlebars), ILMBERGER (carbon parts), STÄUBLI (quick brake couplings), TRW (brake lines and pads) and WUNDERLICH (disc, crash pads) will be used on the Cup vehicles. New as Boxer Cup partner is BOS, which equips all racing boxers with stylish, sound-strong rear silencers.

In 2019 Christof "Fifty" Höfer (D, Team Wunderlich Motorsport) won the first edition of the new BMW Motorrad BoxerCup ahead of his team-mate Nate Kern (USA) and Marvin Jürgens (D, Team Motorsport Burgdorf). The American Nate Kern, who wanted to compete in the BoxerCup again in 2020 and win the title this time, will probably have to postpone his plans until 2021 due to Corona travel restrictions - as will some of his American guest entrants.

We are also looking forward to an exciting Superbike season! In contrast to the BoxerCup there will be an additional race weekend at the Sachsenring, so Florian Alt will start on 5 weekends!
