Our report from TT-Circuit Assen

For the first time in the 2019 season, we competed in the IDM Superbike in Assen with the new BMW S1000RR K67 and immediately landed on the podium. Bastien Mackels, a permanent member of the "Wilbers-BMW-Racing" team, has not forgotten anything and was already on P1 in the first and second practice session on Friday.

Unfortunately there was a hard crash in the wet on Saturday in the qualification and Bastien got really hurt. From that moment on he ran through the paddock with a pain-distorted face. P3 was first row on the grid and therefore not that bad.

Sunday morning, with much better weather, the mood was good. But Bastien's pace was still very slow, he was not feeling well. But he was determined to score points for the team and made it to the P2 podium and in the second race he still managed to finish P4.

Our BMW Motorrad BoxerCup also started in Assen under the supervision of Cup Manager Thomas Beyer and, as always, with much loud "thunder".

The US racer Nate Kern, as an integral part of our BMW Motorrad BoxerCup, had encouraged two fellow countrymen to take part and they also did their laps in the "Cathedral of Snelheid" in Assen with great pleasure.

Unfortunately, race 1 was cancelled on Saturday due to rain and an oil-smeared track. But on Sunday race 2 took place under the Dutch sun. This was won by "Fifty" Christoph Höfer. The title in Hockenheim can hardly be taken away from him.

From 27 to 29 September, 25 participants will compete in the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup for the first time at Hockenheim. A full field shows the great popularity of the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup ... See you?
