Our
Wilbers-PA
solution maybe is the most comfortable way to adjust the spring preload. Using a hand knob that comes with a bracket specified for your motorcycle, you can easily adjust the riding level to match additional passenger and/or loading situations. The adjustment range is 10 mm.
The X-PA offers you the option to regulate the spring preload and therewith the vehicle level by the included box spanner in a breath. The purely mechanical adjustment mechanism is very light and, due to its robustness, best suited for enormous loads. The adjustment range is 15 mm.
The
ZF-PA is a hydraulic spring tensioner that is directly integrated on the shock absorber. The advantage is that you do not have to mount an external hand knob to the vehicle. Nowadays especially current motorcycle models rarely offer space for a separate had wheel. Easily reachable and adjustable without much force, this preload option can be tuned for up to 15 mm.
The
E-PA is an electrohydraulic spring preload. This system is exclusive to our WESA-X shock absorbers. Using the control unit of the WESA-X system, you can adjust the seating level at the push of a button to different loading situations in 5 steps.

With
the Wilbers
ride-height-adjustment the length of the shock absorber can be modified over a thread located at the lower shock mount for +/-5mm. Normally this is possible while the shock absorber is installed.
Depending on the type of the motorcycle, the seating height can be adjusted for up to +/-15mm. This is for example useful on the racetrack to influence the caster and therewith the steering behavior of the motorcycle.
After the presentation and first test reports of the Sporster 1250S, it was clear to us that after the great success of the LDC system for the Touring models, we now urgently needed to develop an LDC system for the Sportster 1250S.
Because here, too, the conventional shock absorber fitted as standard quickly reaches its limits. The sensational design and the belt drive of the Sportster 1250S unfortunately do not allow much suspension travel. which inevitably leads to a tighter set-up with normal shocks.
The Wilbers LDC suspension provides the solution here as well: The spring travel is increased to a full 80 mm and the spring rate could be significantly reduced due to the additional gas spring which becomes harder depending on the load. It is important to mention that the seat height does not change significantly and thus the stocky appearance of the Sportster 1250S is maintained.
The Wilbers LDC system provides the necessary comfort without sacrificing stability and handling.
Of course, we also took a closer look at the fork of the Sportster 1250S during the development of the LDC suspension. We succeeded in significantly improving the friction and thus the response behaviour by using high-quality plain bushings and SKF oil seals. The slightly firmer Zero Friction fork springs in combination with the matching Zero Friction fork oil form the perfect symbiosis.
For the optimum riding experience, the LDC shock is therefore supplied together with the fork components as a suspension kit. It consists of:
- LDC Mono shock absorber
- 1 set of ZERO friction fork springs
- 1 litre ZERO friction fork oil
- 2 sets of ZERO friction slide and guide bushes
- 2 sets of SKF oil seals & dust caps
