The standard suspension is, typically for Harley Davidson, quite hard. The low negative suspension travel on the rear axle can be clearly felt on poor roads and impacts are also channelled directly into the wrists at the front.
After the Wilbers conversion, especially to the Nivomat system, with Wilbers fork oil, the handling is much more comfortable. Both on uneven road surfaces and when cornering, the fork remains stable and does not become unstable.
